Remind me, do I need to hinge forward the windshield to remove the dash? I need to install new wiring harness and want to evaluate effort to remove the dash vs. time spent standing on my head under the dash!

Do you have any pictures of the throttle lever to cable connection and cable bracket setup. It looks like the cable is pulling 90 degrees off the stock explorer action.

I go to the local tranny shop that is Transtar dealer, but remans are available at all the advance-part-zone stores for around $75 for the C4.
I just need to figure out which freaking one I need for my 5.0 swap! jk
My original 76 flexplate is 164 tooth with 11 1/4 bolt circle, but it looks like I bought the wrong reman converter. I have FM122, that lists as 11" diameter with the 10 1/2 inch bolts. I think I need the FM112, listed as 12" @ 11 1/4 bolts. Both of these are listed as 126 spline.

What are you using for a gas tank? I want to reuse as much of the 97 Mountaineer fuel system as I can. I am just getting into the tear down as you can see below.
