I wanted Cherry Bomb Vortex but my wife and daughter did not know that.
On Fathers day they came to me to show me what they ordered me.

Flowmaster Delta 50's

Cherry Bomb Vortex mufflers were more of a recent love affair.

I know these Delta 50's are gonna be really quiet.
Kind of looking forward to that after listening to blown out glass packs for years.
Probably install them this weekend if no 🐟 fish 🐟 get in my way.

Last year I replaced my old 14" Magnaflows with a pair of Flowmaster Delta 50's and I'm happy I did.
They might not be as quiet your thinking.
On my combo they have enough volume without being too annoying and have that nice chambered sound.
I think you'll be happy.

It's ok if they are a little loud.
I mostly do not want the drone at highway speeds. I had that a few times in the last 20 or so years with different hot rods. I want no part of the Super 40's anymore, haha.
My blown out glass packs are awful. Anything will be an improvement.
My Buddy's Tahoe sounds great but that is a single exhaust that also runs through a cat so mine will definitely be louder than his set up.

Alright.....
Word to the wise. Flowmaster Delta 50's are a few inches thicker, taller, and longer.
They are a really tight fit. After a Lot of tweaking and welding I got them in there without bumping into my WH Wrap Trap.
Considering the fact that I am running full length headers, these new mufflers are amazingly quiet. Keep in mind that I have been listening to blown out glass packs for years.
But until I get up to about 3000 rpm they make no sound.
So only when I really get on it hard does it make any noise.
My "old ass" is really digging the quietness. I can easily have a conversation at highway speeds now.
And yes, I can feel a small bump in performance over the old turbo style and bullet style glass packs.

If you want a really quiet muffler then consider the Flowmaster Delta 50.

By the way.....

These boogers are heavy. Some heavy duty exhaust hangers will be required.

I had no idea they would be as quiet as they are.

Absolutely no drone in the cab either, and I have zero insulation and no headliner.

Really pleased. You will be too if you want a quieter exhaust.

Put 40's on mine. Some days I wish I would have gone to 50's. They're a nice balance.

I have the 5.0 out of a mustang. I really like the sound that the 5.0 puts out. I don't want really loud exhaust. Would this work for me?

Year's ago there was a thread here about knock off Flowmasters. I ended up buying them because the price was great. Not sure if they were a 40 or 50 knock off, but I've had them for a good 8-9 years and I love em. Does anyone remember what the brand was?

Thrush and Summit have a knock off Flowmaster but it is a typical 40 series. Excellent sound but quite a bit of drone on the highway.
The "Delta" 50's have a third Chevron welded into the muffler case. This third Chevron apparently makes that sound difference.

I had a Marauder which has an OEM chambered muffler.
These Flowmaster 50's remind me of the Marauders mufflers.
Regarding the sound of a stock 5.0 Mustang......these Delta 50's may be quieter than those stock "Fox" Mustangs.....

Some photos.

Not very good photos but it gives you an idea of how big these mufflers are.
