I’m restoring a 1977 Ford Bronco and just ran out of PPG Grabber Blue Concept paint. I painted half and still need to paint hood and two doors. From what I find online this paint has been phased out. What do I do now? I don’t want my bronco being two different shades of grabber blue.

Even with two separate mixes of the same paint there can be a slight difference. I would go to a ppg store and hope the replacement comes out real close.

While it would be more work I would repaint the whole Bronco, I dont think you would get an exact match especially if the current paint as seen the elements are faded at all, Im sure a great paint guy could blend it but may not be any easier or cheaper in the end.

First, I wouldn't believe anything that's been said online. I would go to an actual Automotive paint store and find out for myself. See what they said about the online statement and see what they could do about matching.

The store I go to can match anything.

I think they darkened grabber blue with the current crop of mustangs, I believe mid 2000's. It just seems more vibrant than what i recall of original 70's cars and trucks had, like mine, and I've got original paint on underside having never seen the sun in original condition, not as vibrant deep blue as the PPG stuff you show.

Look at my photo<<<<<<< while faded on the ousside my build link shows inside VVVVVVV .Post 5 best original grabber blu shot I have. A guy down the street has a 73 stang with same color as mine. I still cringe looking at that red carpet glue someone molested it with.

Accurate shot and history of the blue
