Sold

1966 U13 Roadster, uncut, original paint, inserts, Kaylin showroom softop.

Not willing to split or sell any of this separately, all or nothing package deal.

Provenance: I bought this from the son of first owner January 2012, California truck, original Box A Title 98,568 miles. I'm third owner.

I have original window sticker, original owners manual, 4x4 hub brochure. Original copies of various 1966 Four Wheeler magazines including one reviewing 66 Bronco, which is what original owner used to determine his purchase.

Original CA smog pumped 170ci 6cyl which was rebuilt a few thousand miles ago (have receipts), 160psi cold compression across all cylinders. Period and California correct air cleaner and rare working air pump. Vehicle has been stored in a garage last 15-20 years.

I renewed fuel system, flushed, etched and sealed tank, new fuel lines, fuel pump, rebuilt carb. New voltage regulator. Complete ignition tune-up, manual choke, starts right up, idles smooth, drives 60mph down freeway no problem. Drove in Phoenix 115deg heat with engine temp hovering at 200degrees. Radiator has been pressure tested to 18PSI, no leaks. Heater works. Fan has two speeds working, no bad noises either. 3 speed on tree, good clutch, sometimes jumps out of first while under deceleration, cannot reliably duplicate, adjusted linkage, it's better but still jumps out on first gear decel one out of ten times. All other gears fine and smooth.

All new brake system (MC, brake cylinders, turned drums, lines, flushed, bled, etc) front to rear including emergency brake cables, new front bearings and seals, rare working in good condition OEM manual locking hubset rebuilt.

I think the floorcoverings are OEM original, but unsure, anyone know how to ID? Passenger seat is as shown, pretty good and useable shape, driver seat upholstery is ripped in a few places, needs recovering. Sunvisors in good shape/original covering.

This is a survivor, daily driver, not yet a showroom truck. Surface rust on floorboards, NO rust through. Surface rust on front left fender, left rear lower quarter. Dents include driver rocker, left rear corner (original owner USED this truck twice a year into Sierra's to fish). Hood, right fender and grill are not 66, but are OEM sheetmetal to replace fender bender parts by original owner. I have a 66 eyebrow grill (different color) bought from another broncoforum member in Nevada in very good condition to replace grill. I have two (left and right) 73 uncut fenders (different color) to replace any minor rust on fenders. Bulhead has 2 inch crack on top, probably due to spare tire, no rust on bottom. Undercoated by original owner and it worked. Original red primer visible under tank when removed. Underside coated with dirt over the undercoating giving it that whiteish/tan look.

Dash is cut for square radio which works, I have TWO 66 Bronco AM radios, one works in excellent condition, and one works, missing one knob. I have two rear OEM hubcaps. No front caps, Owners son said those died a death on some trail. All instruments work. Dash light bezel is wrong (it says washer). New ignition switch and keyset. New OEM style aftermarket seatbelts, I have OEM originals and wouldn't trust them to stop a flee, but come with purchase. Window wipers are not functional at this time, I have two sets of spare wiper parts. Fuel pump is OEM correct vacuum type, just not plumbed to wipers yet.
Drives straight and true, stops straight. Steering bushings are worn.

Sold as is where is, no warranty.
Asking $8950

answered.

Per owners son, Top is Kaylin made with sticker and tags to boot, replacement about mid seventies, using kaylin parts of the time which may be slightly different than original 66 parts.

Inserts are also replacements around same time, I think they are OEM, but not painted to match. I do have an extra set of insert hardware, new, not OEM to go with sale.

Everything talked about above is included and everything in pics, except toolbox and my shoe, mouse and keyboard.

vin pic build date specs at Sep 1965, one of the earliest U13's known to exist, let alone one in driveable condition. U13 Roadster registry has two other Sep 65 build models but both modded to V8 engines. I claim this is the oldest U13 with a 6cyl from California in existance.

U13FL748242

Model Type- Open Body Roadster w/ Standard - 3900 lb. GVW
Production Month- September 1965
Color & Color Code- Arcadian Blue - PPG 12854
Seat Configuration- Bench Seat
Delivery District- Los Angles
Engine- 170 cid, 6 cylinder (1v Carb. Venturi)
Transmission- 3 Speed Manual - Column Mounted Shifter - Stock for all Roadsters
Axle- 4.11:1 - Ford 2780 lb. Standard
Assembly Plant- Michigan Truck Plant - Standard for all 1966-1977 Broncos

Note it says bench, but window decal shows owner paid for upgraded bucket seats.

Would you be interested in selling the rear hubcaps, and maybe the grill?
Sorry, not splitting this stuff up.

Black plate goes with sale.
