New project alert!!!!

So as I was finishing up my wife's Jade 68 bronco (you can see the build on here), I came across this Bronco and kinda fell in love with it. It is original paint and has been in the same family for many years.

To start at the beginning, this is the day that the PO pulled it out of storage and tresnported it home.

You know I like lots of pics, so MANY more to come!

Very cool, I have a really nice rear seat if interested.
I may hit you up, but Im tempted to put a set of ginger interior in it that I have laying around because I have all the seats and door panels. I think the red would look ok with ginger...

Nice project. I assume the top was originally white? Or was color match top an option with the Explorer package?

I’m thinking that color matched tops were an option ($$) on any model if you wanted to pay for it. Buddy of mine ordered a black EB with a black top. I told him he was crazy to get a black on black Bronco without AC, but that’s what he got.

Very cool TJ! Can’t wait to see what you do with this one.

The ginger interior would look nice, but not nearly as rare as the original plaid for ‘74. If that one-year only red mat is still mostly intact, save it. Those color keyed Explorer mats are unobtanium!

Besides, that’ll give you an excuse to find another Bronco after this one is done...😉

It looks like the top was originally white and it was painted at some point. I guess it could have been ordered or someone could have painted it right when they purchased it because the top and body have faded consistently. The fender flares were also painted, Im assuming at the same time.

The red mat is there but its very fragile and torn in some places. I think the rear section is ok. I like the idea of going back with plain, but new plaid seats would look out of place in this, because I dont have the heart to paint this original paint. We'll see, maybe a set will pop up.

Same with the door panels, pretty much everything specific to them is really hard to find. I've had two red 74 explorers (still have one) I've got two sets of front seats and one rear to hopefully put mine back to original one day. I'd say leave the red interior, maybe throw a seat cover over the driver's.

So, the PO did things a little diffferent that I probably would have done (I would have probably cleaned it up first), but none the less here is the list of mods:

- Crate 351 from Five Star Engines w/ headers and dual exhaust

- Stock suspension replaced

- C4 transmission rebuilt

- Centech wiring harness

- new speedometer

- new radiator

- 4 wheel disc brakes

- 1 " body lift (original bushings need replaced though)

- Mickey Thompson wheels and new tires

There may be a few things missing, but thats the majority of it.
