In case you don't want to read any farther... It has a blown head gasket on #3 and #4.
Base model Saleen, I believe I am the 4th owner... 128,500 miles. It did not have the best care by the 1st two. 4.6L V8, T-45 5-speed trans, 8.8 Rear end completely rebuilt with new carrier, new locker, new 3:55 gears, one new axle, new bearings and seals. New brakes pads and rotors all around, New carpet kit, has SPL Cat-back exhaust . Driveshaft rebuilt and balanced. There are a lot of little things that have been repaired or done as well... New coolant hoses, new plugs, new coolant expansion tank, lights replaced, two new tires on the rear, Trans had fluid change, clutch was replaced by PO. Has unknown age Tokico shocks and struts, which were not provided by Saleen. Has Saleen front/rear springs, front sway bar, factory rear sway bar. Has Saleen 18" Rims/no center caps, has correct white dash and aluminum trim pieces inside... Aftermarket stereo, PO kept Subs and left a ton of wiring that went no where under the carpet. PO replaced problematic plastic factory intake with new/revised unit from Dorman.
White paint is peeling in a number of locations, pass fender has been replaced, lower Rad support wrinkled. Still supports Rad appropriately.
Both my Boys learned to drive a stick in this car and the youngest was driving it to HS. It was a Family project. But I am at the point where I don't want to put anymore money into it. It still starts and can move under it's own power, runs with a miss, you can smell the coolant from the exhaust, cooling system pressurizes quickly.
I am trying to post as much as I know, so there are no misunderstandings.
PM me if you have additional questions. The car is for sale locally. Tags are current, it passed its CA Bi-annual smog test last year. The car is sold as is.
Doug.
