Looking for tips, lessons learned from those who have installed the BC broncos 23 gal tank, with intank fuel pump. I plan on taking this project on over the next couple of days and would appreciate any helpful tips/ideas.

Thanks in advance
J

Mine went in pretty easy. The only problem I had came from my rear bumper, cause the trailer hitch on sits in about an inch. When I was putting the tank in the rail system that bc uses hit the rear crossmember, so I had to trim the rails a bit to get it to sit in between the rear crossmember and my bumper.

Grease,
Did you have to trim both the front and rear rails?

Here are some pictures I just took.

This is the front sitting against the rear cross member.

This is the rear of the tank sitting against my trailer hitch.

Here is the best picture I could get of the rail system. I had to cut about an inch and a half of the rail off and grind it flush with rest of the tank to get it to fit.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for the pics, with a one inch BL will I still have to clearance the rail? Also how did you wire the fuel pump? Sending unit self explain, ground easy, but I have to run 12(+-) v from somewhere?

GP,
Are you running a 4 link rear?
I see coil springs mounted on it...

If your rear bumper doesn't sit as far in as mine does you shouldn't have a problem. The tank I'm using from them doesn't have the intank pump. I would try to pm chuck or call BCB for more information on that.

Yes. I am running super flex f150 coils in the rear. I just cut the spring buckets off an 70's f150 and welded them to my frame and axle.

Did you tack weld the mounts to the frame rail as per BC instructions?

I tacked welded the wedges inside the rails, to help prevent it from falling out. And the mounts are bolted in the stock locations, so I could remove to tank and mounts at a later date if I have to replace the sending unit, or something else tank related or suspensions relayed, and not have to fiddle with adjusting it and fitting it back in

I installed this exact same tank and I love it. There was 2 things that were a pain in the ass.
1---Your exhaust may be in the way, I had to have mine reworked to accpet the bigger tank.
2---The trailer hitch had to be removed and rebuilt to accomodate the space issues.
