• Be EXTREMELY cautious if someone offers to buy your Bronco for more than your asking price and sight unseen. ESPECIALLY if the buyer is overseas. It's probably a scam.

Advance Adapters # 50-2704E is out of stock. Looking for the kit to mate my 97 4r70w to my T-shift Dana 20. I'd even consider a used setup. Who has these in stock otherwise?

You can use the zf adapter.

Hmm.. Advance Adapters says their ZF to D20 kit is # 50-4303.

Looking at them side by side, they are nothing alike. What gives you the idea they are the same?

They aren't the same; just an alternative.

Pros:
ZF is cheaper
Does not require output shaft replacement
Provides for Atlas or other upgrades in future

Cons:
Requires a custom crossmember. BC ZF crossmember can be easily adapted though.

And I'm fairly certain the ZF adapter only works with the AWD 4R70W, not the 2wd 4R70W. Good luck with the search.

Wow I didn't know it would bolt up. I just picked up my awd 4r70w for $100. I was torn between it and the zf. Price dictated which I got, plus all my hot rods are manual, the bronco will be a boat puller / cruiser. Sounds like the zf adapter is what I will probably go with.

After some more research, I think I am going with a NP205. This thing won't see any crawl time. Total cost for transmission and case, $250. Do you guys know what shifter is best for the 205, as in can a single stick be used?

When I was installing a ZF into a 79 bronco I just shortened the connecting rod between the shifter and the t-case and it worked fine. I sold that project because we moved to FL. I think I still have that shifter sitting in the garage some where. lol
