I am starting on my 66 Bronco project. The internals of my oil bath air cleaner are in pretty bad shape. Is there a way to replace that assembly with a plain round aftermarket air filter? Seems like everywhere. I love you can find aftermarket filters for the V-8 engine, but not the in-line six.

Try vintageinlines.com and take a look at fordsix.com. A long time ago I bought an aftermarket air cleaner in chrome for my 200 six with a Carter single barrel carb at someplace like Grand Auto. Try Summit.

I use a Wix 42054 filter in my oil bath housing.
I just ordered one. Any modifications needed? You kept the metal filaments in the oil bath housing just fine? I am soaking mine in a solvent at the moment. I think I let those filaments get too mucked-up. I don't mind the oil but...... Thanks for the tip!

Hey guys. Migrating to a sniper on my 170 and resurrecting all sorts of old threads. Anyone have confirmed luck with a dry filter drop-in into the oil bath air cleaner? Thx as always.
