66 - Correct Horn Mounting Location

Hey all...

From what I've discovered, 66's came with two horns, a "hi" and "lo". On my 66, the PO mounted the "hi" on the fender and I'm trying to figure out the correct mounting locations.

I'm guessing one of the horns is supposed to be mounted here (arrow from #2):

Is that the hi or lo horn mount? Also, any idea where the other horn is supposed to be mounted? Is arrow to #1 a mounting spot?

Thanks!

I may be wrong but I think they only came one lo horn, I have a 71, I won't be home until tomorrow afternoon, but I can take pictures of my original horn and mounting tab and how mine is mounted.. Mine mounts where yours does I believe.. I have a buddy with a 77, it mounts to the core support kind of in front of where yours mounts on that brace. My original horn bit the dust and won't work anymore so I recently got a lo horn from a 70's f150 from a junkyard. It says lo on it and ford but the mounting tab was slightly different. Works though its not exactly all that loud compared to a new car. I did see several lo and high setups at the junkyard but just went with the one lo. Oh I think it's spot #2, but yours could be different, I have that bolt hole and a small hole next to it, the small hole matches a tab that sticks out of the horn mounting bracket and locates it. I'm definitely not a 66 expert.

Thanks! That helps. Based on your photos, it looks like my bracket is incorrect. When it was mounted to the fender bolt, it was bent to about 45 degrees instead of the 90 degrees like in your photos.

My factory horn was a little different than the replacement I used but hope that gives you an idea. Also mine is a 71 so still could mount different. If you want I can take pictures of the 77 setup also
