So I just can't seem to stop...Picked up another 66 yesterday. While I was cleaning it up I texted back and forth with Okie. He looked it up, looks like November 65 build date, 4.11 gears, Rangoon red, export DSO anybody know anything about that DSO? Has an mph cluster. Also lots of good part, eyebrow grill, chrome bumpers, doors, rear view I've never seen before but it looks like it was only drilled for this one so maybe original? Bucket seats, rear bench, etc. Also looks like someone added drip rail chrome and sport chrome. Started to take it apart as it was most the way there and I'm amazed at how clean the bed is. Motor also looks really clean. No title, so I am thinking part it out but may look into a lost title. Anybody ever seen a build tag like that in the engine bay? Really excited to learn more about this one...

Thinking they called those buck tags, they were a production line thing that got left on by mistake sometimes.

Buck tag is incredible, it's been hanging there for almost 50 years! :)

What I have been able to make of the buck tag markings is:
OPCAR= bulkhead delete
BSDP= bucket seat driver and passenger
RS= rear seat
LGROOF= long roof (full hard top)
NIR= not sure, but some times it is MIR think it has some thing do with mirror? Roadsters usually have MIR and U15's usually have NIR. from my limited experience.
HTR= heater
U15= Wagon
092= 92" wheel base
J= Rangoon Red
WSW= windshield washer
773640=sequence number for 11/65 build month

My 66 has an outline in the paint of the same mirror base with the one screw, located between the visors mount on the windshield frame. I'm interested in the this mirror if you decide to part it.

Mirrors really cool. Obviously haven't cleaned it up at all. The little tab says GLARE-PROOF GUIDE and the mechanism moves nicely.

I have not seen that mirror before?? But, Guide mad a lot of parts, such as headlights, mirrors and sheet metal parts. Heck, they even made the little .45 auto Liberator pistols that we air dropped into Europe during WW2. I really doubt it is OEM.

That's interesting...I've heard there were 3 different rear views in 66. The windshield frame doesn't appear to have ever been mounted with anything else???
