73 Bronco stock c4 auto column shift bushing

So ordered the bushing in the picture for the top portion of the rod between the c4 auto itself and the shifter linkage

I put on the bushing but it doesn’t seem like the right one... looks like it needs a e-clip but even then it doesn’t seem like the right one... I will attach the pics of it... if some one has a link to the right one that would be awesome

Remove the shift arm and push the bushing in further. The narrow part in the middle needs to line up with the hole in the shifter arm. The conical part at the end should be sticking through the arm.

In the photo below, you'd push the bushing in until the two red lines align. Once the bushing is in the shift arm correctly, mash the linkage back in. A word of warning, both getting the bushing in the arm and getting the linkage into the bushing are challenging. There is another thread on this very thing right now with some additional pictures and tips.

Yes it is a huge pain... assuming if you followed the instructions your all set. If not post and I am sure we can offer more opinions. I just did the same thing this week. Getting the new one out is another painful post.
