I have a non bronco steering wheel (looks like a late model mercury)on my '75 Bronco steering column and have tried everything to take it off but is stuck tight. the only other option is remove and replace the column. I have been told that a '74-79 F150 will interchange that has a automatic transmission is this correct? would like some advise on this.

By everything I assume you have doused it with penetrating oil and used a steeing wheel puller? I have had a few that were really hard to get off, but a even a cheap steering wheel puller has always made it happen.

The '74-'79 F series colunms should work as a replacement if it becomes necessary. The '78 & '79 Bronco tilt columns are a common upgrade that people have done. I don't believe they are an exact bolt-in replacement but they should take very little modification. Someone on here will know more about those columns. I gave up on recycled columns years ago and started buying ididit or flaming river columns. They cost more but everything in them always works right out of the box.

I would love to know more about the tilt steering column. Hopefully someone chimes in soon with more knowledge about the upgrade.
