I have an OTC HD pitman arm puller set...the jaws are adjustable to cover even large truck pitman arms. Might be able to locate one of those to rent?..they are not too pricey to buy outright either.
Amazing how the right tool makes a difference. Got a Lisle brand puller for a F250-F350. It fit fine and pulled it off. Had to use a cheater bar. When the pitman finally let loose I thought I had broke another tool.
