Does anyone have a pic of how the emergency brake cables are set up on a '77.

I never got around to putting mine back in after the frame off and now I need to fab up some mounts and such. Pics would be much appreciated.

If I remember correctly some of the mounts were welded to the floorboard? With my glass tub I'll have to come up with something else.

A 77 has a slightly different setup. The 2 rear cables go through the same bracket (mounted to the bottom of the bed, I think.) They then connect to the front a the equalizer bar. The front is completly different. There is no pivoting bar. The front cable mounts to a bracket that is welded to the floor pan near the fuel selector. The cable ends in a threaded rod that goes through the equalizer bar and is the tension adjustment. Hope that helps. Let me know if I can clarify it anymore. Jason

Thanks guys. I didn't think that diagram looked like the way I remembered it. Jason77 made it all come back. I've gotta order some cables and make some brackets.

My Bronco jumped out of park, shot between to vehicles in the driveway (one of which was the wifes new minivan:eek: ) and took out my mailbox. Not a big deal until I realized that my 2.5 year old had been playing in the driveway only 15 minutes before:-[ .

That just put the emergency brake right at the top of the to-do list.

Could still use an actual pic if someone has one.

this brings to me a question:

can I run a 75 ebrake setup since I have a 75 tub and a 77 chassis or is there something I am not thinking of?

thanx,

Mick
