9” 3rd member keep what I got or upgrade?

I am doing a coyote build and doing new gears etc. is the smaller 2.89 strong enough for daily driven? Or should I find the 3.06 larger bearing and go from there? Putting in an Eaton true trac and 31 spline axles.
