I love the site here and I know it has helped me and many others. I had a thought on a new forum and wanted to throw it out there.

Since I am considering a new garage, I would love to see a garage/shop forum added. This would pretty much be all encompassing of:

Shop build threads.
What you wish you had put in your shop and what you wish you hadn't spent money on.
Tools that you consider must have for a good shop.
Shop building tips and ideas, such as running electricity, air lines, floor drains, quality lighting etc.

I think you get the idea.

I know there are already garage based forums around the internet, (garage journal board for example) and I have visited those, but am always looking for new ideas, and honestly some of the guys on here are so crafty and budget minded, I know there are tons of great thoughts out there on shops.

Anyway thought I would throw the idea out there for consideration. :)

I agree. It would be great. I will be building one in the fall. I could use all the tips I could get.

I agree it's a good topic, but I don't think it needs it's own separate forum. That stuff is currently talked about in Bronco Chat which seems to work fine. I'm always reluctant to create new forums unless they're absolutely needed. The more spread out you get the more confused people seem to get as to where it's appropriate to post.

Agree with admin and would like to throw out there that a shop should be "safety concious" in design. Adequate power distribution, lighting, ventilation and Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) are essential. As for PPE, especially keep your vision in mind. Too often I witness (myself guilty) of not using goggles or a face sheild when obviously called for.
