So, yesterday my A/C stopped working. I have a Vintage A/C system installed. I opened the hood to check it out and immediately noticed that the connection (which is a plug) going to the compressor had separated. So, I plugged it back together and clutch engaged again for a short period of time. Drove home with A/C off. Trouble shooting I have determined that that power is not getting through my binary pressure switch. I don’t have any gauges to check pressure. Is there anything else that I can do or should I just get to an A/C shop?

Knowing pressures kinda a must for diagnosing what’s going on .. maybe a leak or was never filled properly ? Access to the the evaporator inlet and outlet for direct temp readings is a indicator of correct system volume of refrigerant in these made up systems with a multitude of parts being used,, but knowing pressures and what the switch set points are would help, winter and cold temps can affect compressor on time as well
