A while back I asked for some advise about switching to an aluminum intake and a 4 barrel carb. You guys gave some great advise and I really appriciate it.
I went with an edlebrock Performer intake W/4 barrel (got springs on everything) and put in a hot cam.... HOLY SH_T I got power!!!
What an amazing transformation.
All I can say is WOW, thanks for the advise guys!

Great - what cam did you go with? And what engine? 302 or 351?

Do you run headers? If not you'll notice an even bigger difference when you bolt a set on. (The full length ones make more power but are a pain in the ass to install. I dread my starter crapping out.)

if you get a newer style header, you don't have to remove the header to drop the starter. some of the new shorty headers are gaining almost as much power as full length too.

Ok Guys
I got a 302, headers, and the cam I went with is a 31-215-2 cam FS 252H-10, the intake is a Edel 2121 Performer and the carb is a 600CFM Edel with offroad floats/spring kit.
The power increase is absolutly outstanding...talk about waking up a motor!!! I dont know yet about the gas mileage difference but the whole reason I started into this is that the old carb was dumping a crazy amount of fuel (you aught to seen the black smoke rolling out the tailpipes before the new toys). She still starts great, it just got done on Monday so there will still need to be some fine tuning that will have to be done after I run her around a bit.
My parents are coming to visit this weekend so I cant go out and play....they always pick the wrong weekends to visit. Next weekend though, I will be climbing, bouncing, throwing some mud and putting it through a good workout.
Thanks again for all of your suggestions, it worked out great!

Glad to hear you had such good success!!!

PM me your email address and I'll send you a write-up (of sorts) with some mods to your Edelbrock carb for a little better off-road performance. The mods will help when you're nose-up (or down) or off-camber.

Treat it to a correctly curved distributor for even better performance. The cam, carb and advance need to work together in harmony.;)
