In the years I've spent working on this thing, nothing has been harder to decide upon than the color. I've considered about every color under the rainbow, but now I'm thinking an antique white or very light tan of some sort may look good. Wondering if there were any folks out there had any pics to share.

if i were going to do a white it would be the white on the escalade.. because some whites look like a rental car or a utility van .. and tan looks like a white that is very dirty.. but that is only my .02

Lots of metallic in the Escalade paint if I'm not mistaken. I'm trying to stay with as little to no metallic as possible. I've actually been considering some of the late 60's to mid 70's VW whites, off whites, and tans. I agree that you can get into the "ugly" spectrum of paint colors really quickly. The Bronco will have a bright white half cab and just looking for a body color that will show some deviation from the top color, be somewhat period and be complimented by chrome trim. etc. I may not go this route as I'm still undecided but it seems that I'm always drawn to the white and tan Broncos.

I've been thinking about going white on my Bronco here lately as well. If you go white you may want to think about going with a black top of some nature to break up the monotony of all that white. I think that a black soft top or bikini top would look pretty sharp. I'd stay away from a light tan since I think that it's going to look odd with a white top on it. Not enough variation between the colors. You could go with a medium brown or so and it'd look pretty good with a white top.

Another option for light colors is yellow there was a stock bronco color that was pale yellow. Looks real sharp with a white top and is period correct.

I agree...pale yellow is a good option for light colors choices.

Here's mine...It aint purty but you get the idea. One of my favorite color combos. I've been told it looks like tan, and it probably could be mistaken for white with a quick glance. Best of both worlds...keep 'em guessin! ;D

ncsubronc I really like the look of your truck uncut and lifted. The height of the lift and tires is perfect. Just need a fresh coat of the pale yellow paint. Did you buy that bronco in the last year or so? I think I looked at that one last spring.

Here is a pic of my white '70 LUBR. The paint was by the PO about 10-15 years ago. It's more of a bright white instead of Wimbledon White. I also recently put a black Rampage top on and it looks great.

Well this thread proves to me that it's hard to beat the lighter colors. Now I have to consider pale yellow too. This is going to take forever.

My Bronco is a pale gray/green. It photographs as white but when parked next to a white car it clearly isn't and a bonus is that it always looks clean. I wanted a color that was period-correct yet up-to-date and not tied to certain time like some of the modern colors are.

It's one of those in-between colors that nobody seems able to name (even though I know it's called Fontana Gray).

Pictures are in my gallery.

SWFLABRONCO, I am in the same position as you. Choosing a paint color has been the hardest decision I've made yet on my ride. I actually have to decide on a color soon and I cant make up my mind. I've just come to the realization that no matter what color it ends up being it is going to look great. I say that because every photo I have seen of a bronco I've thought to myself "that looks good too..." I always thought white with blue trim/stripes looks good.

Thanks ep! I wish all it needed was fresh coat...lots of metal to replace first! %) ;D I got the Bronco about two years ago from a guy down in Woodbridge, VA. Where was the one you looked at?

Well after looking at some of the pics here, looking through a million different color swatches, and envisioning how I want the end result, I think I chose my color. It's actually a 1996/97 Cadillac color called "Shale", found on the El Dorado and Seville. No metallic, just a solid, very light putty color. Should look great with the white half cab. Now just figuring out If I'll be able to get away with a silver grill and chrome bumpers. I hope to finish priming and undercoating the tub, and spraying color to the door jambs and engine bay this weekend. It's ambitious but I'll click off some pics and post if I get there.
