I'm looking to add a spare tire carrier to the back of my Bronco and I'm not really keen on having one that's mounted to the body due to the weight of a 33" tire and wheel combo. Has anyone ever fabbed up a swing away tire carrier to a stock Bronco chrome bumper? got any pics?

I'd be a lot more comfortable supporting a 33" tire with the body than the stock chrome bumper. Those things really aren't that beefy.

It's not worth the trouble. The stock EB bumper is not strong enough.

Here's one solution that worked for me. I read somewhere here on the forum that someone had done it, so thought I'd give it a try. The weight is distributed about 50/50. So far so good, no rattles and it's solid. The bolt on the right goes into the frame.
Sorry about the lousy pictures, need a new camera.

How much body lift? Could try a design to have a tire carrier built, tied to the frame and then the chrome bumper attached to that carrier. keeping the chrome stock look.....???? This is what I want.

let me know what you come up with, as I want something similar. How much body lift you have?
