I bought my '74 last year and it still has the original spare (never been on the ground) on back. Size is G78x15. Good luck finding any. I found some at a retro tire specialist, but they had the big white walls, so I passed. I put P225x15s on mine, but I'm told the P235s will work also.

Thanks for the complement Texas Bronco. The original tire size on this '77 was L78-15. Even the spare was original. I just put new meat on her and the tire shop says that it is equivelant to 235/75 R15's. Hope that helps.

Mine is on gallery page 54, 5th one down. I went with LT215x75-15s 'cause I was concerned with clearance in the rear. Probably could have used 235x75s, though. The originals were on 16" rims. I think they were 6.50x16. All the tire places told me it would be hard to get that size again, especially in a bias ply tire. Besides, radials make a world of difference in the ride...
