Anything special to mounting a fiberglass hood?

I have the Cobra style hood from http://www.boa-fx.com/pages/11/index.htm

Do I need to do any re-inforcements around the hood hinge area? I've been told buy one of the body guys that I should put a stainless steel strip across the inside lip in the back and cover it with glass to make it stronger? Thoughts?

I have the pins for the front that I will be putting on it also.

Thanks.

When I installed my ProFlow fiberglass hood I placed a strip of Aluminum (about 1 inch wide) on the inside where the bolts come thru. i made each strip about 8-10 inches. Figured that was enough to support the hinge. i was worried about the bolt holes cracking if all that was supporting them were washers. no problems so far.

My hood came with steel strips, which I powdercoated before using. Take your time and make use of those shims! Also, if you want to do any cutouts, think it out first and do them while the hood is off the truck so you don't have to install it twice or lean over on a footstool. To mark the hood pins, I made sure I had a good fit, then I installed the pins, dabbed the top of each one with (a non-white) paint, drilled pilot holes through the underside of the hood where the paint dots were, then drilled the finish holes down through the topside.

I really think its a good idea.My wife had my '73 painted, three days after getting it back, she drove to town and didnt put the hood pins back in.My proflow was air born.hinges completely ripped clean off.I wonder if those hydraulic prop rods would have helped?
