I just picked up an astro booster. I was thinking about angleing it to gain some clearance. I read about the pedal shift mod. Need more info and lots of pics;D... I need all the help I can get. I'm running a 351W,EFI,c4, 1 in body lift, and tall ford motorsport valve covers.
Under the hood is starting to look like 10 pounds of shit in a 5 pound bag.
TIA

You Called??

you rang?????
Here is some pics of an hydroboost in the bay with a 351 (my Bronco)
This is a 351, note the massive amount of clearance from the valve covers to the hydroboost unit.
The unit is mount straight to the firewall, no turning or rotation, bolted right on.
Stronger mount than just about anything and virtually no play or slack in the actuating rod as it is a straight push for the unit to work.
This is a Ford hydroboost but I have used a C***y one ton unit the same way.
Even with wires and all stuff on the motor LOTS of room

Yes mine is finished, I am running a carb, got it redone at PonyCarbs and it is great.
You have to remember that the pedal shift puts the hydroboost at least 4" possibly 6" closer to the Driver fender. Lots of room

Others have done this with EFI and have had no troubles.

My article on Hydroboost gives you the routing info, check with that.
pedal was a straight connection, the pedal from the Mercury Marquis and the hydroboost lined right up so connection was not an issure
The article again will show you how to connect to Hboost to the pedal.

I'm missing something I guess. What u pictured above is exactly what I wanna do. But I have no idea how u can move the booster over 6 inches and still hook to the pedal. I'm a little slow today. More info and under dash pics if u have them Thanks. I'm running out of room fast. ;D

The pedal is from another car, and such has a different set of bends in it.
when you install the pedal in the clutch location the pedal fits correctly
See what i have for other pics when I get home tonight.

heres some pics
first ones are blurry but show the cut and threaded rod that connects the pedal to the Hboost unit
Next two are the pedal installed in the Bronco gives you an idea what you are after.
Last two is the Hydroboost installed in the shifted position. The motor is my 351 install and complete. You can see you have tons of room and clearance to the unit. this is THE way to put Hboost in a bronco with a mountain motor.

Bronco Billy What pump are you running ..I did have several Sag..canned Ham covers with the returns. If you need one I'M almost sure I have a spare .. When I worked at the dodge house I brought several home.
...But if you want to run a T I'm OK WITH THAT ALSO.

I'm running a crown vic serp setup.. It has the plastic res. ford pump. I've replaced the pump.It has less than 2000 miles on it.. I hope it up to the task.

Anybody know anything about having the h-booster ported for less restriction?
I've thought about trying ram assist to help turn with the detroit in the front.
Thoughts??
