I'm visiting in Oz...shown a couple people pics of my Bronco...take a guess what they say? "Oh...you have a Jeep?"
No one ever even heard of Broncos here, but they do think mine's cool.
Maybe I can start exporting and get a Aussie club going here.

It's pretty cool here...lots of cars on the road here from the 70's 80's that are equivelent to our Fords, Chevy's that people grew up with....and I've never heard about. Ever heard of a Holden Falcon?
Thats like a Mustang to us from the 70's..."Mad Max" drove one in the film.

It's kinda like a paralell universe. :)

No EB exports allowed. What you need to do is convince the aussies to build the bronco Ford wont build here.
In many ways the aussies are lucky as they tend to get the better end of the stick as the engines and options tend to be better than what we got.

They drive on the wrong side of the road and their steering wheel's on the right side like the British.%) I went there in the late eighties and its a very nice country but they need to drive on the correct side of the road. Besides, I don't want less Broncos here because aussies are buying them up. No exports, let Ford make them down there or convert the Ford Territory(Australian Ford Escape) into a Bronco.

I thought that Holden = GMC in Australia. Mad Max drove a Ford Falcon XB GT. You're lucky to be down there, I would vacation there again if I could.

Gahhh...you beat me to it. Holden is a division of GM. The newer Pontiac GTO was just a rebodied Holden. The entire chassis is Australian.

I would love to go there and bring some parts back to put on my EB like a EFI for my 200 6.

They have all sorts of cool stuff down there. How about their "Yutes".;D Can you say 3-door F250? FYI, the Pontiac GTO is a Holden Monaro.

Watch "Love the Beast" on (streaming) Netflix. It puts the Aussies' love of the Falcon in perspective, and it's a pretty good "car guy" documentary.

I was there when they started on the Camaro... The manufacturing folks knew of Broncos One of he fellows I spoke with mentioned he did quite a bit of wheeling (used propane)

As far as 4x4's what I seen was all Toyotas, Nissans,etc...
What I liked the most was the Aluminum bumpers they were using. The massive bumpers were on everything even small cars.

Also most 4x4's had intake provisions for deep water...

It was a once in a lifetime trip for me I spent 2 weeks business and took another 2 weeks for vacation. Visited Sydney, the outback, and Carnes... Went scuba diving in the Great Barrier reef 5 times ;)

hmm...i don't know. look at the "mad max" or "road warrior" films with mel gibson. There are some fabbed 78-79 broncos. it's difficult to imagine that they haven't heard of ebs.

a few years ago, i helped my sister sell her '68 mustang and an aussie had bought. had it viewed and shipped it down under. kind of difficult to imagine they don't know about classic american vehicles, specifically a rugged rig like the eb.

I'm in the process of moving to Townsville Queensland & I'm taking my 66 & my 75 with me. We were there last month where I went into a couple of local off road shops. They are excited to see some EB's in Oz. I've been looking into the importation idea & am planning to give it a try. The Aussies love classic American cars & are off road fanatics, so I think they will go nuts over Broncos. Lots of red tape involved however.
