Auxiliary Tank Question - Best Flange Mount?

Gang,

I sprung a geyser in my original aux. tank. Looks like the bottom section of the flange plastic has pulled apart. Glad I only had a gallon of 93 in her when it happened!

I have heard pros and cons against the two types of flange mounts for the auxiliary tanks. Some folks don't like the screwed in flange. Is this flange problematic? Should I stick with the oem ring type?

Any wise words would be appreciated!
