in the next couple months i am looking to change out the drivetrain on my bronco. right now its 302 c4 d20, and ill most likely be using an ax15 or if i can find a nv3550 for a reasonable price i will use that.

now for the transfer case i have been thinking about using a 203 d20 supercrawler as the 203 can be bolted to the ax15 with some work.
(and a intricate cross member)

here is a link http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/jeep-hardcore-tech/220650-ax15-203-info.html

there are a couple of concerns however #1 i believe the overall length will be around 47". i plan on moving the rear axle back about 3". is this too long?

#2 will the 203 d20 fit in the frame wells? is anyone running this doubler?

any input is greatly appreciated

I dont think it will be too long since the ax15 is the same length roughly as the c4. you are basically just adding the length of the adapter plates and the 203 range box. That is my opinion. Maybe I have it wrong and somebody will correct me.

my measurements of a c4,203 and a dana 20 come to 36 1/4 inches. i think it is 1 1/8 inches longer than the c4 and 20 stock. it is being ran with 5.13 gears and 38.5 ,14.50 sx swampers. it works great.

Don't let anybody tell you the new drivetrain will be too long, period. I put in a ZF/203/D20 back in 99 or 00 waay before any kits were out and have run it with a 3 1/2" lift for the entire decade without any problems. I push my rig pretty hard, not abuse, but hard. Moab, Rubicon, other places no problem with length. However, dependability of the D20 with all the doubled up torque factor is another topic...
