For those who have done the ax15 swap how do you like the shifter location? Can somebody post a pic of where it ended up?
Nest question is... I just replaced the clutch in my 3spd, as in less than 200 miles on it. Does the swap require a different disc and pressure plate or can the new one be re-used?

I think NV and AX are very similary,

I installed the NV3550, same pressure plate, different disk to match the transmission splines.

Also different pilot bearing to match the transmission output shaft.

I can't imagine your AX shifter location could be any different from my NV3550. It works, but I found it too far forward to be comfortable. Even the aftermarket shifters and handles are mad for a Jeep which puts the drivetrain further back.
You have a couple options. You can heat and bend the stock AX/NV shifter back.
I took a stainless B&M shifter, and used a disc grinder to cut a 1/4" slot 2/3 the way through the back of the shift lever, just below the boot level. Then, while sitting in the driver seat, I bent the lever back to a comfortable position. Then I removed the lever and tig welded the gap shut. A little grinding and polishing, and the fix was not noticable.

I put more bend in my B&M shifter it was too far forward and too close to the dash. Next time i get bored I need to remove it and put a little more bend in it.
I didn't heat or cut mine just put it in a good HD vice
I called B&M and they said that was ok and the easiest way to bend it.

Worked out pretty good . I can reach the shifter - Lol - but could use a little more bend . I bent it back and toward the driver seat. I went with JB Fabs twin sticks and their boot that fits/covers all 3 shifters so the boot comes right up to the bottom of the bend on the tranny shifter.
B&M and Hurst used to make 2 short throw shifters for the NV3550 . One with more bend and located lower on the shaft but Hurst stopped all together and B&M only kept the one with bend at the higher location.

Here's a few shots first 2 is 3550 in Balloon Chaser. Last 2 are AX15 with B&M and twin stick. If you click the pic it turns the pic for a better view. Been driving both of these rigs lately. Compared to the 4500 in the Mare these things shift like butter.

Excellent idea!
I may move forward with this.
