A friend is willing to give away a 1973 ford 3/4 ton 4x4 camper special, Just wondering if the axles or anything are worth looking at. Anybody know what it has, it is kind of a drive and he not able to take pics. he did mention the "turning things look like balls" (closed knuckles I assume)

Thanks!

Nothing usefull for an EB in that rig...not very usefull for anything really as a part donor, except for someone wanting to restore a similar F-series... Closed-knuckle 44 with drum brakes...16-spline rear 60..divored tranny and t-case..

Personally I'd never turn down a free 4x4. Even if you can't use it as a donor, it would make a great work truck, parts hauler, camping rig, or barter material for a better donor.....

Thanks for the info. I feel the same way as Hal9000. My wife is going to $%$@ herself when I bring it home.

The NP435 with divorced transfer case is the proper tranny for a 4 speed swap. I just pulled one out of a 72 3/4 ton 4x4 and it is the 28 spline needed to go into the Dana 20. The front end is one of the worst dana 44 made. The rear Dana 60 might be worth somthing to somone who needs one for a simalar truck. I drag ever Ford 4x4 home I can get my hands on (keeps my wife pissed!).
