BC Broncos headers and exhaust

Well, I bit the bullet and ordered the full BC Broncos exhaust system. I fired up the 74 last week and heard a terrible exhaust leak. I had a small hole under the cab, but this was coming from the engine compartment.

I had two new cracks in the exhaust manifold. That means only one thing, new headers that i've always wanted.

I'm hoping what everyone says is true and that these bolt right up without much difficulty.

I also hope the magnaflows arent' too loud. I run stock exhaust and manifold with a Flowmaster 40. I don't want it much louder than that.

I'm also still running the stock 2 barrel. Someday there will be a 4 barrel replacement, but not yet. Any issues with running a 2 barrel with the headers?

They should bolt right up and you will love them. I have had mine for about a year and still enjoy them. I'm am running dual magnaflows on mine and I like the sound better than the flows. You should be happy with them.

BC 2 into 1 system

I also bought the whole BC system including coated BC headers and system all the way back. I'll be installing it next week. Let's each report out on how it goes.

Muskrat, Got your E-mail yesterday, it takes a little time to figure out what th problem is. Thanks for the pictures, they helped. First, the drivers side pipe goes in the bottom hole of the muffler. The pass. side goes on the top. But that is a side note not the problem you are having. The place that makes the pipes made all the passenger side pipes back wards, meaning the flange is on the muffler end. There is room in the pipe to fix the pipe locally if you want. Have a exhaust shop flare the other end and just cut to flare off and send the bill to me. Or if you want call and get a return order and shipping tag from sales, return the pipe and we will send a new one out. The down side to the second way is it takes a couple of weeks to get the new ones made. Sorry for your inconvenience.

Hey Chuck, I ordered my 2 into 1 around Christmas time...I haven't installed it yet but I have welded the O2 bungs already, I sure hope that the bends aren't wrong. Was the mistake made by your manufacturer only in the recent batch or should I be concerned? I did a quick mock-up of the passenger side pipe to my engine on the stand and it appears correct, it bends to the top inlet on the muffler. Love my headers BTW...a real work of art!

If all goes as planned, I'll be knocking off of work at 2:30 to finish the exhaust. Man I love working from home. I hope it warms up a little bit. No sign of spring around herenn

Your should be fine. Only this last batch was wrong, we picked them up a little over a week ago.

Thanks Chuck, sorry to hijack your thread muskrat...good luck with the install and please do let us know how it went. I'm still a couple weeks away from bolting mine up, I'll be watching this thread with interest.
I hear ya on the no spring thing, I've woken up to snow the last three mornings!

Got it finished up today. Sounds great. I its a totally different sound than the stock manifolds and Flowmaster 40. It sounds so much better.

I really feel an improvement in performance also. I can't wait to get the new intake and 4 barrel on it.

Once I got the pipe flare reversed and the old one cut off, everything fit up really nice. No clearance issues anywhere.

I'm very pleased.

BCB 2 into 1

Muskrat, here is a briefing on my install. Things went pretty well. I did the BCB shorty headers and the complete 2 into 1 with a slightly quieter Magnaflow than what is normally part of the kit. I didn't have any problems with the fitment of the sections from the headers to the muffler. I wanted to carry my exhaust all the way back and turn it out on the passenger side so for a tailpipe section BCB fabbed up something that would be close and I had the final tweaks done by a local shop for my specific situation. I did the install at home. Below are some photos. I'm happy with the result. Good luck with your project.
