I love MTR's for highway and mud, they are kinda hard for rocks. They are quiet and balance really well. My father in law hand BFG's that wore out fast in my opinion, but I am unsure of the miles he put on them.

had good luck with the bfg's . nice bite in the dirt, ride well on the road, quiet and wear has been good when properly inflated. like any tire, don't forget to rotate.

I'm running the kevlars Kenny and I don't have any complaints. My old BFGs were nice also but I don't have experience with the new ones. I'm also used beads for balance and I like them too. I don't think you plan on thrashing yours so standard weights should be fine though.

I am running a set of BFG KM1 315/73/16 . I got them from a buddy of mine that had taken them off his Z71. They were pretty close to wore out when I got them. They have a little tread on them but not much. I believe that he had about 40K miles or so on them....but I'm not 100% sure.

I am amazed at how quiet the tire is being that wore out.

They are both good tires as I have run them both. The Mtr's win on wet rocks and grab like velcro. Both wear about the same and the noise is the same. I cant say enough to make sure and balance and rotate them often to get the proper miles and wear out of them.

I've run the older BFG Muds and now have the MTR Kevlars. Both are good tires but I like the MTRs a bit better. I was following a Bronco with BFG KM's up a slick muddy hill at hte Round Up in June. He had trouble and I went right on up. So I agree, the MTRs seem to work better in wet, slick or muddy conditions.
