BFG Baja T/A question

I have an opportunity to buy 5 35" Baja T/As at about 80% tread for $700. I have never known anyone that had these tires so I have no knowledge of their handling characteristics. What are they good for besides the prefered tire for Baja races? I guess I am most interested in their on road handling characteristics as that is where the Bronco will spend 50-75% of the time. Thanks for the help.

Entirely the wrong tire for what you want. They're noisy, they're heavy, and they'll flat spot on you in the mornings until you get them warmed up.

My experience with BFG tires are they have good traction, and are long wearing tires that seem to have stiffer/thicker sidewalls than just about everything out there. This seems to come in handy when airing down, and the newer model T/As have a rimsaver bead. I have no experience with the Baja TA but I sure like my ATs. All three of my vehicles and my trailer are presently shod with BFG T/As and i couldnt be happier with them.

I wore a set of them out in less than 10,000 miles on an F150 pickup driving 90% on road and 10% off road. Great tire if all your gonna do is trail ride but a really big no-no for street driving.

Now if you get a deal on a set of the BFG Krawlers ... Jump on them ;) .... My front two have about 50,000 miles on them and my back 2 have about 500 miles on them and the is only about 3/32 difference in the tread wear on them.

My buddy has a set of three he can't get rid of. The only place you have seen the BFG Baha is in the desert, mainly because of their hard "cactus" proof compound. I used to be a firm believer in BFG and was the only tire I would run on all my vehicles until they changed the rubber compound a couple years ago. I have not been very lucky or happy with BFG and switched to Toyo open country M/T's. Right out of the gate they have out performed the BFG's in every aspect of driving. I would lean toward Toyo's but would still put BFG above the rest for a street driver.
