Sweet...After researching this for a while and seeing various methods it doesn't seem too bad. Is it as simple as cutting where the kick panel and inner fender meet and simply drilling and bolting? Then to take the clip off, just unbolt fender at doorpost, unbolt at kick panel and remove two front body bolts? Any "during" pics?

I like it, but does it make it flimsy at all? Yes....some durring pics would be great, or at least some pics from other angles.

I still like the "tube front end" idea better than the stock panels. The tube just seems alot stronger, not to mention it can be used as protection if tied to the roll bar. Just my thoughts.

Nice mod;D But I think I will be going the tubular core support route. It just seems to be stronger and doesnt take up as much space as the original. Plus mine is all rusted and needs alot of welding. Just my humble opinion%)

I researched this for a long while myself and really wanted to be able to take the clip off while doing the restore. I didn’t want to have to cut off the door post and kick panel to make a repair back to original since it wasn’t all such a great idea to begin with. I had several guys asking about this so I decided to do a tech article and just showed a few shots.

I used 16 gauge sheet metal for the new piece and no it isnt flims at all, its very sturdy. I only showed a couple of shots for the guys asking about since I was doing a tech article.
