Bringing the beast back to life

I have a 71 trail rig. I t hasn't been driven in about 15 years. I snap an ear off the pinion yoke. First fun spot on Fordyce trail and I was scewing around. Damn axle wrap. I towed her home and parked her. I used to fire her up ever now and then. I probably haven't in 5 years, maybe longer. I finally got the key cylinder to un-seize enough to turn over. A few shots of starting fluid and she fired right up. Ran surprising well. The 2bbl on my 351w was puking gas all over the place. Damn stuck float valve. I freed it up, and started her again. the accelerator pump was puking now. Replaced it today and now I've got no fuel to the carb. I'm guessing the fuel pump sucked up something from the tank. I've got a inline filter just before the mechanical pump coming from the tank. Them old fuel line are hard and cracking. Nothing was coming loose without a fight. I was getting ready to start cutting and decided to walk away. I just want to move the beast from my Garage to the freshly poor concrete next to it. I'm not sure if I'll keep her or pass her on. I'd like to get one more trip on the Rubicon and Fordyce before I let her go. But thats not even a must do. I added a larger tank from wild horses a few years before my last trip. So I know the tank was reasonably clean before it's last fill up. I always used stabilizer in my fuel. The tank was mostly full, so I've got a tank full of old gas I've got to deal with as well. My hope is it will work to get the beast onto the side of my house.

My questions:
1. I know the fuel pump was working cuz it was pushing gas everywhere before I shut it off. Will mechanical fuel pumps die just like that? Doesn't a clog sound more reasonable?
2. I've got a new ignition switch coming from wild horses. I can get the key to the accessory position and get the paper clip in. I can feel the spring tension on the paper clip as it bounces in and out a bit. It's just not turning the extra little bit to pop the cylinder out. Any tips on freeing this up so I don't have to drill it out?
3. I can move her with just the front wheel drive. But I've got to deal with the broken yoke. Can I just unbolt the old yoke and bolt the new one on without messing up the rear end? She's just a beater, not a streeter. I don't want to dump a bunch of money into her just yet.
4. Whats the best aftermarket axle wrap device while still using leaf springs? I've got to address that axle wrap. I seem to remember Duff was pretty highly rated before taking a step back from this. Is this still true?
5. Are there any other things I should look at?
