Hey all, has anyone on here installed a bronco design fiberglass latch hood with the full inner fiberglass layer? I am looking at how to bolt the hinges on, I assume I am supposed to drill and tap the holes for the hinges since I can't get to the backside to put nuts on it. before I drill any holes however I thought I would ask for a bit of advise on here first. thanks. obviously these hoods are not like the fiberglass hoods from wild horses or toms broncos etc.

I have that one. Did what you said, drilled and tapped. There’s a piece of steel embedded at that location. Same for hoot latch and on the side for struts, if you’re doing that.

Wasn’t much to it. Just don’t drill all the way through! Haha

Drill and tap probably will be fine. If you're concerned with the thickness of the plate being too thin for tapping you can also consider using nutserts.

Yes that was my concern I tried calling bronco Design and did not get an answer so I posted the question here and on Facebook and I sent an email to Corey Sunday. Shotgun approach like I do lots of things. Lol. Anyway Corey replied to my email a couple hours after I sent it and some people on Facebook who have used this hood also replied. Corey said to just drill and tap it. He recommended 5/16 bolts instead of the 1/4 inch ones that came with my wild horses hinges. So that’s what I did. And I think it looks awesome

Hey how far in from the side is the metal for installing the hood shocks?

Here’s where I mounted mine. About as far outboard as they could go. I hit plenty of metal with the mounting screws.

This is the duff kit for fiberglass hood.

what did you do with the scoop in the front. I don't think you can cut it out due to the inner layer without doing some major fiberglass work. I have seen people mold the scoop flat in front, and I might do that. not sure yet.

I talked with Corey before doing anything to it. Ended up scuffing the gelcoat and adding fiberglass resin to the front. If you cut the fresh air vents, you will have to fill in the gap between the top and bottom layer of the hood. Not hard to do, just time consuming.

Corey will do it for you but it is an additional charge. I just ordered one with it filled in.
