Wife said "me or the Bronco, it's your decision." After careful consideration, I decided the Bronco would not request alimony.
I have a roller, it's a 74 Bronco tub and frame with D44/drum and standard 9" rear.
Axles are basically an unknown, I am just going to say they need to be completely gone through to be worthy.
Frame is nice.
Not just a tub, all front metal- inner fenders, core support and wheelwells are intact.
Bad-
Rust around battery tray area.
Already cut for flares
Front floorboards are rusty
Seat platform has rust.
Rear floorboards are good, but do have several apple seed sized rust hole around the wheel wells. All four corner pieces of the bed do have some pitting from surface rust. It would be your decision to replace those or not depending on what kind of rig you are building.
Front kick panels and inner fenders have been damaged from oversized tires hitting them. They are solid, just deformed, so again replacing these would depend on what kind of rig you are building.
Windshield frame needs work or to be replaced.
The Good-
Cowl area appears rust free
Front door posts appear rust free- SEE EDIT BELOW
Inner and outer rockers appear rust free.
Kick panels appear rust free.
Rear door posts will need some work in the future. Relatively solid now, but a previous owner filled up behind the driver side with foam, so it will rust. It already has some small holes. Passenger side appears OK. Would make drivers side a priority to prevent rust from creeping onto quarter panel.- SEE EDIT BELOW
Rear quarters and tail light corners appear rust free.
Comes with an auto steering column, but it does not turn.
Comes with a mystery auto steering column, who knows what it is from.
Seems to have its original wiring harness, although I'm not sure I would use it.
Has it's heater box, plus an extra heater box.
Has transfer case crossmember, but it's in the bed.
I do have a title for this, and it does have a glovebox door that matches the door post sticker. The bad part is it's an open title from the guy I bought it from (he never transferred it into his name) since he didn't transfer it, the truck went unregistered long enough that it fell out of the Oklahoma title system. It's possible that I could get this brought up to date and to my name, but it would raise the price of the tub. I am willing to give a complete bill of sale to the buyer along with the open title. Not sure how titling works in neighboring states, so a buyer would want to check on that.
I do not have wheels for this, buyer would have to provide wheels to make it mobile. It has wheels on it currently, but they are factory Ford slots, and DO NOT come with it.
As things go I'm not sure if this is priced high or low, basically just want to get back what I have in it.
Price is pretty firm, but negotiable a bit.
Don't have a trailer? I even have a trailer I would sell you to pull it home on. ;D
Will post up pictures ASAP, just wanted to get the ad on here before I changed my mind.
EDIT:
After taking pictures, I am going to revise some of my rust statements.
Driver front post does have some rust at the bottom, there is a close pic of it. Hinge area is fine, but the very lower part is more rusted than I thought.
Driver rear door post is also in worse shape than I thought, it is especially bad at the bottom.
Some rust shows on the inner fender/kick panel connection. It shows on the inside, not on the outside.
These may seem minor to some, major to others, but I want to be as upfront as possible. Don't want someone driving hours to see it and thinking I mislead them on condition.
If anyone wants more of closer pics of anything just PM me or post here.
