Does anyone have a picture(s) of the spare tire mounting hardware that was used on bulkheads? I don't think I have ever seen a complete set. Also, was an early '66 (mine is an October build) any different? Any insight, and especially pictures, is welcomed.

no but its simply an (upside dwn) banjo shaped hole u'd C on a wall to hang stuff.

The head of the carriage bolt type deal slips in the upper hole, slides dwn to the slot, onto the bottom where the narrower place allows it to stay 'stuck', capice`? comprende`?

the carriage bolt type deal

OK I understand what you're saying. If its just a carriage bolt that pretty easy and explains why I haven't seen a spare tire holder. But you state "the carriage bolt type deal" like it's not just as simple everyday hardware store carriage bolt. I was thinking there was some sort of center plate and perhaps a particular wing nut that was used as well.

Yes, there is. oem all ways "dress it up" some. U can scout all these prts new/used w/on-line searches.

"Back East" we have ppl living on the prks - unlike Far West. Lookin @ ur sig I wonder if U have been able to correct "...nowhere to wheel." ?

That's what I was thinking, just wasn't sure if that hardware would work. Now that I know we are just dealing with a simple carriage bolt I'll move forward, thanks guys.

well, not quite, huge thin head, long narrower than usual shaft etc but ur gettin closer...
Measure for length'n head (C 'key hole") ur wheel/tire combo.
Scan the usual bronk vendors, etc for the other prts, match thread's pitch, count, diam...

Thanks for that. So I just looked at Jeff's and I think they've got all the right stuff. They are showing the bolt and yeah, it's not your typical carriage bolt.
