I got a wild hair last month and converted my '77 with the factory C4 automatic to a ZF manual.
The C4 was rebuilt by Ultimate Transmission in Boise about 10,000 miles ago and a new low RPM torque converter was installed for off road performance. It shifts firm and works great. The transmission worked great. This was the first automatic rig I've had, and I just need to shift gears. I've got a bunch of cash in the trans and accessories and they all workded great, I just wanted that 3rd pedal.
I have everything needed to convert your 3 speed Bronco to the C4: the trans, flexplate, torque converter, hard cooler lines to the radiator, adapter and spud shaft from C4 to dana 20, crossmember, polyurethane trans mounts, starter, spacer plate between engine-trans, twin stick shifter for J-shift dana 20, deep finned aluminum pan, kickdown lever, large brake pedal for automatic, and the factory steering column with shifter.
No scrounging for parts hoping it all works out, its been in a Bronco since 77 and working good.
email me if interested or want more info
