I have a '69 Bronco with that currently has a 200ci 6-cylinder engine with a broken 3 speed manual trans. Eventually the plan is to replace the 6-cyl with a mustang 5.0 and the 3 speed with a C4 automatic.
I have found a donor C4 from a '75 Bronco, but would like to know if I can mate-up the C4 bell housing to my 6cyl. so that I can at least drive the Bronco around until I can aquire a good 5.0 motor. Or is the 200ci /C4 combo impossible or does it require expensive adapters?
Ideally, I'd like to swap out the tranny and drive around with the 6-cyl untill I have the $$$ and a worthy 5.0 motor available.
I could also attempt a rebuild on the 3-speed to get moving again, but I've never opened a tranny case and don't have any pullers/presses available for a rebuild- or is the 3-speed rebuild really easy?
