California Registration

Hi all - I’m looking at buying a used pre 75 Bronco with kincer chassis. Current owner has the vehicle registered in California and I plan to do the same. Would be great to know how this works (vs restored original frame) as the VIN won’t match the frame. Sorry if this has been discussed before - I search around and can’t seem to find the answer.

If the Owner installed an aftermarket frame, and just kept the original body/Vin, then he would have to Go to the DMV and go through the process to have a Vin assigned to the new Frame. I would recommend that you not Buy it until this is done...
