Working on a friends Bronco (made from several years) and noticed that whoever mounted the carb to the intake, used stock 2100 style gasket and it leaves a gap on the passengers side. I could hear it ticking when the truck was running. Not sure what the intake is from but it says D7 (77) but not sure if it's from a stock Bronco since it doesn't mate up perfect with the 2150 square backed carb, therefore the gap. It does have the flat back mounting surface like a later 75-77? 2150. However ....the intake has a protrusion on the passenger side so it leaves a gap in that area and won't seal. Can't remember if that's stock??? Any idea why this is this way? Even if I use the proper square backed thin paper gaskets that should have been on there and the 1/4 thick square backed gasket, it still leaves that side gap. Also...what would be my best bet at getting rid of this gap or sealing it up without removing the entire intake and going with a stock Bronco intake?
