Working on a friends 77. It has been coughing under any kind of acceleration, so I thought accelerator pump. Replaced that, resealed the base with new gaskets to ensure no air leaks, and no change. Looking for somewhere to go now. Stock 302, 2bbl carb, any ideas?

distributor? check the vacuum advance, look inside to see if it's completely corroded, or if the bushings are missing... what's the timing set at? etc.

X2 on the timing probably off a bit. usually if its to far advanced it will cough out the intake. Also check all vacuum lines and caps if any are cracked or in bad shape they could cause a vacuum leak.
