Centech harness to stock 76 wiper motor

Hey everyone, I have a Centech harness installed on my 76. I recently decided I should put the wiper set up on it since we are going out for New Years Day. I got a rebuilt motor, had to find the linkage etc, and the set it all up. Well I am an electrical idiot so here goes. I don't have the instructions anymore to the harness. The wiper motor has a red, blue, black and white. The old harness in the windshield has red, blue, black and yellow. The Centech harness has black, blue, yellow and green. So since its Thursday night and I don't want to melt down or blow up anything can someone guide me in the right direction? I have to work all weekend and will have to work on the rig after work so time is short. Thanks for any help.

I did a centech for my 76 aswell. It was a while back. I think I remember having to try different sequences with it before I got it right. You should have the Centech wiper switch with the harness. 1 is power, ground, high and low. touch each wire until you get it I guess.

I would not rush it. The Centech kit requires you to open up the motor and disconnect one of the wires. I didn't want to do that or use the crappy wiper switch that comes with the kit.

I am not around the Bronco right now but there is a way to keep the stock switch and use that harness. Someone will chime in. If you want to use the Centech switch and just wire it up like in the directions, shoot me a pm with your email and I will send you a copy of the instructions that I scanned.

I don't believe you have to take apart the motor. I either cut the wires 8" from the wiper motor or used the stock connector I can't remember. I know that I never had to take the motor apart.

to use the centech switch with their configuration you have to remove the ground from the circuit. At least that is how it was on mine back in 2004. I use the intermittent module and switch and never had to cut any wires. There is a writeup in the tech section as I remember.

I disconnected the switch they sent with the harness and re-used my old one. It seems to be working well and it was a no brainum.

Well I have the Centech switch in and have blown about seven fuses so far. Not sure what is going on but I m tired and headed for bed as I have to work tomorrow. Like I said, I m an electrical idiot.

You are blowing fuses because of the return to center (not ground as I said before) is still hooked up. Since you are not afraid to blow fuses, just wire it up for the stock switch. Check out that link and I will try to remeber what I did. Jughead should be able to guide you if he has his Bronco close.

I can't recal what I did exactly, I've never had issues with it or blown fuses. I don't tremember having any difficulties adapting the new harness to the wiper motor. Maybe I got lucky..

tml are you using the stock switch to the one that came with the centech? If you are using the stock switch that is why you are not blowing fuses.

I remember that the colors that come with the instructions for the Centech are not correct on matching your old wire colors from your wiper motor to the new wires of the harness. I had the same problem blowing fuses. I switched the power and park wires and I used the stock Bronco switch and everything works fine.

Hey chad, can you do up a small diagram of what you did so that it can be put in the tech section. Lars did one also but he has people splicing in the ford connectors. I did the intermittent addition also but I am no where near my truck right now. I guess anyone that has done it and are near their truck could do it. It is as Jughead said, brainless but if electrical stuff intimidates you this can turn into a daunting task.

I basically unplugged the spade connectors from the centech switch and put them in place of the ones in the Stock plug head on the back of the switch. I have a pic of it somewhere. It's too simple.
