After pulling apart the front end, I've realized my dumb a$$ got big bearing spindles from the junk yard. Since I've already spent $75 on these parts (spindles, backing plates, calipers, etc.), I've read that guys have taken the big bearing spindles to the machine shop and had them turned down to the small bearing size. Does anyone have some dimentions I can take to said machine shop to make sure it gets done correctly? Also, if anyone has done this procedure, how much did they charge?

Thanks for the info fellas! 73stallion, I take it the spindle on the right is the original Ford drum spindle and the one on the left is the dimensions of the Chebby small bearing disc spindle. Also (not to be nitpickky just double checking) don't you mean machined down to 1.785"?

We too have turned down a set but I say take your bearings to them and let them measure then if it's not correct your can grip..Say make this fit this..We too have our own lathe I'd think 50 to 75bucks..
