Complete serpentine kit??

Has anyone tried this kit out? Im looking for a complete kit, and with the way under my hood is coming along, I really like the look of the polished aluminum. Wondering how this kit relates to the common explorer swap for clearance issues? I will be adding the vintage Gen IV AC system in my bronco as well, and wondering if the condenser in that kit would cause any issues. Any info is helpful. Thank you.

Sandmann can get you into Explorer serpentine for about half that.

Everyone's look is different and individual...

But Anything that is polished will require up keep to keep it that way... Especially if it is stored outside...

Thank you guys for the quick response. It will be kept in my garage, daily/weekend cruising around town. I will have to look up sandmann and see what he has to offer.

sandmann lists in the classified section, and ships quite a few serp setups.

I was really happy with how mine looked from him, quick response and shipping. Again, not shiny, but very nicely cleaned up and painted.

That also looks to be very thick. It has two serp belts at the crank. So should stick out twice as far from the block. May create rad clearance if using a manual fan. If electric may have to mount it pusher style or offset to one side puller style

Thank you Crush, this is what I was most concerned about, can anyone get me the measurement of how far an explorer set up sticks out?

Nothing sticks out past the waterpump pully on any of their kits. So you will not have any clearance issues in my opionion

I bought his Explorer setup as well. It was well cleaned, painted and in excellent condition upon receipt. Easy to do business with. The only thing I did was replace all the bolts with ARP's for a new, consistent look.

Redward - did you use an ARP kit or? If kit, have the part number handy?

Thanks

As far as I have seen nothing provides as much radiator clearance as the Explorer Serp.
The double serp belt in that kit is going to use up some of the space for the back of your mech. fan blades. Might work with electric fan but unless you get a rather bulky one of those they don't work either. The Volvo, Lincoln and Taurus electric fans are popular since they move a ton of air but they are awful thick. Even tight with the Explorer Serp.

I'd hate to see the OP spend $700 bucks on an aftermarket serp kit that prolly will give him hell when he starts putting everything together.

Thank you bronconut. This is what I am worried about. Sounds like the explorer serp is 8.5" from the face of the block from what you guys are saying. I will call them Monday to see how far theirs sticks out.

Another suggestion is to buy a used explorer like I did. I paid $500.00 for this 98 with 145k miles. So now I have the complete motor plus trans for an EFI and overdrive upgrade down the road. Cheaper than buying parts here and there.

No kit, they don't offer it for the small block Ford for timing cover and accessories. Had to piece it together. I also learned that for those early heads, there were multiple bolt hole sizes. For mine, this is what I ordered. Total cost was about $40.

4 5/16-18 Hex O.T.V.C. Bolt (H3AG3.250-5CL)
2 5/16-18 x 4.00 Hex Bolt (H3AG4.000-5CL)
1 5/16-18 x 4.250 Hex Bolt (H3AG4.250-5CL)
2 5/16-18 Hex O.T.V.C Bolt (H3AG1.250-5CL)
1 5/16-18 x 2.250 Hex Bolt (H3AG2.250-5CL)
2 5/16-18 x 2.000 Hex Bolt (H3AG2.000-5CL)
2 5/16-18 x 1.750 Hex Bolt (H3AG1.750-5CL)
14 5/16 ID Chamfer Washer (AGW58)

Did that 9 1/4" dimension include the fan or just to the pulley face?

The dimension I told you for the Explorer included the fan.

Hard to judge from their pic but it seems like theirs sticks out more...
