I like the Coopers over BFGs in the midwest with rain, snow, and ice. Used to be a diehard BFG guy, but the Coopers seem to have a better rubber compound for slick conditions (it might be the tire siping too). BFGs do last longer and I've always like BFGS for thicker sidewalls offload, but I think the SSTs have a good sidewall for rocks and four wheeling too.
I've run the Coopers M+S when they still had 15" versions (31s) and loved them. Not ideal in summer being a winter tire %), but what a difference in poor conditions.
My son ran all season Coopers (don't remember model) on his Mountaineer and I thought they performed well too. Oh, and they are made in America. ;D
I miss the original BFG Mud Terrians. I couldn't wear them out, but they sucked in the rain and I slid my Bronco through many a wet intersection. Yikes.
