Core dash support bracket

I’ve been scuffing body today prepping for hi build. I took a break to check fit of dash and heater box because I have mounted some electrical parts on the back of the glovebox. I pretty much went on memory as to how much clearance there was between back of glovebox and top corner of heater box.

Anyway, I got looking at the bracket that is centered on core support. I think it’s bent and the part with hole should be vertical. I don’t recall it’s condition when I tore down or it could have been bent any number of ways

Anyone have some intel here?

Hank,
Mine looks like NGABronco's pic as well. My photo is not very good.
Good luck with it!
Have a good one!

So does this line up with that hole in the dash that I noticed AFTER color and clear coat?

Yes, the bracket should bend down and have a clip for the screw that goes through that hole in the dash.
Here's my untouched 1970 when I took it apart, and putting the painted dash back in.

My 67 had the screw broken off seized in the threads when I removed the dash.Removed it and I used a 1/4 ss hex head screw and speed nut and it worked fine.

Migs,

What color is your truck? Is that Mojave Tan? My 1970 was Mojave Tan and will be that color when I am done.
