Courtesy light / dimmer painless harness

Q? The dimmer switch on the headlights rotates to go brighter until it clicks at end. Is that two functions? Dimmer for gauges, and then tuns on courtesy lights? Or not. I've looked through my painless book and can't exactly get the answer.

Yes the headlight switch will brighten and dim the bulbs. As you have experienced when you turn it a little more that is what activates the courtesy light. Generally that wire would be with your wiper bundle that goes to the top of the windshield frame.

Page 25 (at the bottom) of the painless wiring instructions states: "the Painless harness has a single Black/Blue wire tagged "Map Light".

Headlight switch s hepatic is on page 71.
