custom console

Does anyone here build or know someone who builds custom consoles? I am installing a new dash and want to keep it as clean as possible. Looking for a console that goes over the tunnel into the dash. I want to put my radio and a/c controls along with a few cup holders.

I would look for a local hot rod custom shop for a one off but I dought it will come cheap. If you go through Herman's Gumby thread, you will see how he made one very similar to what you are talking about. He shaped it out of some type of styrafoam and then had a hard shell molded over it. Looked real nice and totally custom and exactly how he wanted it.

I can see this turning into a cool post
In my Bronco the shifters are all to the drivers side so a console that sweets to the right could be designed and built. I have to get my back togeather and a motor in it before I have to worry about it to much. It may be tuff to keep it so it fits the look of the bronco.

I have been trying to find a good junkyard console that fits and can also be used as a right arm armrest. Looked at F150 and expedition models but can't find something in the right color and reasonably priced... I will watch as this goes..

I could be way of base here. It seems that a weld together kit with different options wouldn't be a big task for some of the very talented metal guys on this forum. If I had the skill set needed I would attempt to make it happen. Could have a standard size console with a couple different options for the tunnel into the dash area.
