• Be EXTREMELY cautious if someone offers to buy your Bronco for more than your asking price and sight unseen. ESPECIALLY if the buyer is overseas. It's probably a scam.

This is the custom steering shaft I built when I converted my Bronco to stock power steering many years ago.

I have since changed my column and swapped to a 4x4x2 steering box, so I had to build another shaft.

This is the one piece manual shaft cut into two pieces, the lower portion shortened, and two u-joints added. There's a joint in the middle that I had to add to compensate for my body lift, and the joint at the bottom is the correct joint for a stock power steering box.

I had this installed on a Bronco with a 3" body lift. Because the shaft is not adjustable, if you plan on installing it on a Bronco with less than a 3" body lift, you will either need to adjust your steering column to make up for the extra length or slightly shorten this shaft. Shortening the shaft will require drilling one new hole to reinstall the ujoint in the section you shortened.

Finally, instead of using a nut to hold the steering wheel on, I drilled and tapped the end of the shaft so I could use a bolt and washer to hold the steering wheel on.
